Thanks to having a little boy, we put on the Fireman Sam series on Netflix, clearly the modern remake on it. But, I’m struggling with one key issue - why has Pontypandy been relocated to being a seaside town? Secondly, the name infers its a bridge town. Are there any seaside “pont” towns in wales? It just seems to do away with it’s true heritage of being a Welsh mining town, and that my friends it what’s keeping me up at night right now. I get why restaurants do this, because children might be bored etc. but I find it distracts them (my two are 5 and 7) from eating when the food finally does come and it's definitely not something that would be allowed at home. Also, I'd quite like to sit and have a conversation with them without them being distracted by an activity sheet. They're perfectly capable of waiting without having to colour something in etc. (I can't really confiscate them once they've been handed out - I'm not a mons... I use them for shipping, so at least they are getting re-used once. They have to be corrugated and clean-ish.
